At the Solbadhotel, we are implementing specific sustainability measures in various areas. We have summarized our key priorities and the measures already in place in our latest sustainability report. You can learn more about our commitment in our 2025 Sustainability Report.
Since 2019, we have been using a pellet heating system to provide a significant portion of our heat. For more information about our energy supply, please see our Sustainability Report.
To promote public transport, we offer our guests the Panorama Card, permitting complimentary use of buses and postbuses across the Lake Thun region.
We sort recyclable waste and participate in the "United Against Waste" program to reduce food waste.
We engage the local community by providing discounted rates for our wellness area, hiring staff from the region, and collaborating with local suppliers. We meet our guests' desires whenever possible and enchant them with our warm hospitality.
We offer a wide range of jobs and apprenticeships, pursue upright partnerships and take economic profitability as well as environmental and social compatibility to heart when making investments. We also promote the numerous attractive excursion opportunities in our region.
As part of the myclimate “Cause We Care” initiative, we’re offering you the opportunity to join us in making an effective contribution to environmental and climate protection through a voluntary donation.
With CHF 2.00 per night’s stay, you can voluntarily contribute to climate protection. The Solbadhotel will double your contribution and allocate both amounts to the hotel’s own myclimate “Cause We Care” fund. The funds will be used in accordance with the program to support operational climate and environmental protection measures, as well as myclimate climate protection projects. Currently, we are supporting, among other projects, the Beatenberg-Habkern Natural Forest Reserve.
Together, we care for the environment so that you and future generations can enjoy our natural world.
During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to environmental and climate protection. The Solbadhotel will double your contribution and deposit both amounts into the hotel’s own myclimate “Cause We Care” fund.
Funds from the endowment are used for selected sustainability and climate protection measures within the company, as well as to support a myclimate climate protection project. We support the Beatenberg-Habkern Natural Forest Reserve in the canton of Bern.
The project supports the establishment and long-term preservation of a natural forest reserve. This allows the forest areas to develop largely undisturbed and provides valuable habitats for various animal and plant species.
With your voluntary contribution, you’ll be joining us in supporting concrete initiatives as part of the “Cause We Care” program. Thank you very much for your support.
We are carrying out this initiative in partnership with the Swiss foundation myclimate as part of the “Cause We Care” program.
